A Self-discovery Journey

Sharing from Mai Phạm, trainee from YTTC in June, 2020 at Zenith

Conquering is one of human instincts, and I am no exception.

🌿Too often common yoga practitioners want to conquer difficult poses to show off their abilities in front of others or simply to create some beautiful photos for social media’s posts. Conquering is one of human instincts, and I am no exception. Previously, every time I did Three-legged Dog, one leg lifted so high that made the hips uneven; in Pigeon pose, my spine bent at the lower back instead; or in Headstand, when the body wasn't ready to stand upside down, I still tried to "kick" to it and fell immediately, luckily neck injury didn't say "Hi!" to me.

Everyone will get practical benefits from Yoga for their body - mind - soul.

🌿 For me, coming to Zenith felt like wandering in a different world as it was a journey of self-discovery, not simply a 200-hour Yoga teacher training course. There were only 10 students in the whole class, all of whom were instructed in details about the body alignment and how to go into a posture without feeling pressured. Every day, I love every centimetre of my body more, I am more careful with every movement and appreciate all sensations in my body and awareness in mind in each asana. Here, I understand my limits, and I'm grateful that those limits are created by nature to protect the body. Each human body is a unique individual. As no one is the same, their own limits are also different. When you can do difficult poses, it doesn't mean that others can do too, even though they seem easy for you. At Zenith, you will also learn how to "read" students' bodies, understand and then help them to understand their own from the most basic. Since we all can practice Yoga in the safest and most effective way, everyone will get practical benefits from Yoga for their body - mind - soul.

Everything comes naturally, without force, without arrangement…

🌿 Then there were times when I cried like a baby, especially when I was able to return to my unfinished childhood dreams. It turns out that the hustle and bustle of everyday life has made us lose track of our own dreams and ambitions unconsciously. I was very lucky because the fate of life brought me to Zenith to be a student of Ms Marzena and Ms Thủy and to be a classmate of other 9 soulful people. Everything comes naturally, without force, without arrangement…

🌿 Zenith has remained in me that way, today I feel confident standing on the mat to guide my students step by step discovering themselves through Yoga.

Thank you so much Zenith!
